MOOC in Concussion – Unbelievable resources and information – THANK YOU

I’ve just completed my first MOOC (had no idea what this was!) in ” Concussion: Prevention, Detection and Management of Concussion”  presented by a host of esteemed professionals in the field of Concussion management and run by Dr Pierre Fremont from the Universite Laval and Dr Katherine Schneider from the University of Calgary. https://sitescours.monportail.ulaval.ca/mooc/accueilmooc?_js=truehttps://sitescours.monportail.ulaval.ca/mooc/accueilmooc?_js=true

Aside from being a slightly giddy nerd seeing researchers whose papers I have read and held in high esteem, what an amazing collection of up to date evidence for all to access concerning Concussion.  I highly recommend accessing the CATT Online site https://cattonline.com/ for information and resources to help share evidence based practice of concussion management worldwide. I live in the microcosm of Dubai and am hoping to translate some of this information into useable policies and protocols for all…not a small task!

 

Concussion and Covid

Let the concussion conversation not be forgotten in these COVID times where contact sport is suspended for now. Concussions occur in all walks of life and this is a great time to review processes; making sure that we manage all concussions individually. It is so great to see the tomes of research coming out supporting individualised rehabilitation after concussion and the awesome colation of clinical information in documents such as the “Clinical practice guidelines for the management of mTBI” from the American Physical Therapy Association.
