Tania graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy in 1995. Tania is a neurological physiotherapist interested in concussion, dizziness, amputees and complex presentations. Tania has extensive experience running her own private practice and working within private and governmental services in South Africa, the USA, the UK and Dubai.

Tania is fascinated by human movement and the integrated brain processing required for function. Tania is currently studying a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise physiotherapy at UCT. Tania assimilates movement theories and current evidence into practice, helping to problem-solve poor, inefficient movement patterns, understand underlying injury and biomechanical challenges, and guide the body and brain into successful functional loaded patterns that are meaningful for the client.

Tania Specializes in:

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Individualized vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness and vertigo including vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, PPPD, visual vertigo and Mal de Debarquement syndrome.

Concussion Rehabilitation

Targeted and graded rehabilitation back to school/work and sport/activity after a concussion. Treatment of post-concussive headaches, neck pain, dizziness, visual disturbances, balance issues and exercise intolerance. Guidance with cognitive, behavioral and emotional changes.

Neurological Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation after a stroke, traumatic head injury, spinal cord injury, peripheral nerve injury (such as dropped foot & brachial plexus lesion). Treatment of problems associated with Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, polyneuropathies and Guillaine-Barré syndrome.

Amputee Rehabilitation

Guiding lower limb amputees to reach their functional goals with bespoke functional strength and conditioning, balance, gait and mobility work. Working alongside the prosthetist to ensure the best solutions for function from a prosthetic and biomechanical perspective.

Complex Presentation Rehabilitation

Assessment and problem-solving of complex patient presentations such as multi-trauma with neurological and orthopaedic problems or after extended hospitalization.
